100 Year Milestone

The laying of the cornerstone in 1923

Last night Seaport Lodge #7 celebrated the 100-year anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of the lodge building. Most Worshipful Brother Craig Sipp, Grand Master, assisted by his officers of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Oregon, honored our lodge with a Corn, Wine, and Oil ceremony to commemorate this sublime event.

The evening began with a gathering in the grand hall, where beverages were generously provided by the Van Dusen Beverage Company, whose family history with our lodge stretches back to its origins. Masons, family, and friends alike mingled and explored the various artifacts and decorations from our history.

The Grand Master called to labor an Occasional Session of the Grand Lodge and placed the lodge from Labor to Refreshment. Joining the rest of our guests, dinner was served thanks to the delicious catering of El Tapitio.

After a wonderful meal with great conversation the Grand Lodge officers, assisted by the Master of Seaport Lodge and three Past Masters, assembled on the upper balcony around a magnificent prop cornerstone provided by Worshipful Brother Greg Hinkleman. They proceeded to bless the cornerstone with a Corn, Wine, and Oil ceremony. After, the Grand Master presented the members of Seaport Lodge with a handsome certificate to commemorate this special milestone.

After the ceremony, the Masons attending returned to the lodge room where the session was called from Refreshment to Labor. The Grand Master presented Worshipful Master Quinn Haase with the Grand Master’s challenge coin and a custom necktie.

Dessert was provided by the ladies of the Order of Eastern Star and our guests enjoyed fine food and fellowship. It was truly a night to remember. Thanks to all who attended. Here’s to another 100 years.
